Introduction
Switzerland is highly known for their expertise in producing chocolate and a variety of cheese but it can be considered a unique country due to several unknown characteristics that make it stand out from other countries. In 2011 Switzerland was considered the wealthiest country in the world and their per capita was ranked as the 8th largest in the world. The wealthiest country in the world also happens to be one of the smallest as it is no larger than the size of Vermont and New Hampshire combined. Switzerland offers a diverse environment as it is home to four main languages (German, French, Italian, and Romansh) and the government among others in the population are able to communicate successfully with one another despite regional differences. Another aspect of Switzerland that makes it different than most wealthy countries is that it depends on imports and exports for most of its wealth. The country has very little to offer as far as minerals and other natural resources. It is fascinating that a country so dependent on others can be incredibly wealthy during a time of economic turmoil. Switzerland prides itself on education and outstanding work force to create success among the country. Switzerland has remained independent from the European Union and they have maintained their reputation of neutrality among international disputes; this could mean that Switzerland is one the safest countries to create business in. Bringing products to Switzerland may be difficult at first because of several language barriers but they avoid conflict and have been financially successful for years.
